Beautiful welds and is easily inserted and removed from the sand !
I bought a few surf rod holders and a dehooker. I am impressed with the build quality, premium materials and the expert welding that went in to their fabrication. The price is very reasonable for what you get. I believe these items are best in class. I can’t wait to build a fishing cart with them in the future!

I have been round and round with sand spikes. Tried tubes, cheap, expensive, plastic,… all kinds. The Deerfield open 2.0 is the GOAT. The open top design is secure, and fast when snatching up long handle surf rods. The rods don’t get hung up trying to remove them from a tube. The spike itself is beefy and strong. The foot post and angle of the tip make sinking it into the hard shell filled Texas sand a breeze. Have 2 now, ordering 2 more and will be getting a few of the HD shark spikes too.
TLDR: Best spike on the market. Get it, you will not be disappointed!!

Finally pulled the trigger after breaking multiple PVC and other types of cheap spikes. This thing is solidly built and easy to use.
Best sand spike I have ever used. I have used several types. What make it the best is several things. #1 you can remove your rod easly after a hookup without tring to pull a rod up and out of a tube. #2 It is just a little taller than most so you rod and reel are at the hight to grab, set the hook, and fight the fish. #3 Clean design without a lot of extra things to get in the way. #4 An attached towel is a perfect touch.
